I have downloaded the Visual Studio Community 2017 version for mac. I opened up the installer and I guess automatically all the components are automatically set for installation or you can choose which ones you wish to install. I chose to go ahead and install everything. After the installation was complete I opened it up and proceeded to develop my first website project. When I went to open the toolbox there was nothing in it. I did click on the add button and still found nothing. Also originally I was in code view, so I went to the view drop down and selected design view. Nothing seemed to change it still seems to be in code view. I am a newbie to this newer version, but I have used visual studio 2005 for quite a while now. I now when you switch to design mode with that version you are able to see and work with the actual UI. I have tried opening back up the installer and it shows that everything that was available was installed and at the bottom it says nothing to install or update. There is no uninstall option there are just two buttons that say cancel or done. If I could get some helpful feedback I sure would appreciate it. Hi, Welcome to MSDN forum. Webex for mac plugin. • Quick & easy text browser. Visual Studio On A MacI found the Toolbox is empty for mostly files like web form file, compare with VS 2017 and I found the Asp.NET Web Forms project in VS for Mac includes less folders and files, references and others. As I understand, it looks like this is designed. And we need to manually add the web forms file and configure the toolbox. Meanwhile, I found the toolbox not empty when I open xx.cs file. Research around and I have not found the way to manually configure this toolbox, and think about this forum is to talk about installation of visual studio.
